Each year The New Atlantis owners spend tens of thousands of dollars on water damage caused by faulty/leaking hot water heaters. Although you may not have had this issue,you are paying for each issue that occurs through your condo fees.
WHY DOES THIS HAPPEN? Many water heaters are old & should be replaced every 10 years. Some that are replaced are not being installed by a licensed plumber & are not installed per the town codes. This can cause financial issues for you.
WHAT CAN BE DONE TO REDUCE THESE COSTS?? 1) Check the age of your hot water heater. If it is over 10 years old you should consider having it replaced. 2) Call a licensed plumber to have the work completed properly & according to code.
WHAT ARE CONSEQUENCES SHOULD I NOT USE A LICENSED PLUMBER? If you do not use a licensed plumber & your hot water heater leaks, your insurance carrier CAN deny your claim. You don't want that !!!
Call your Insurance Agent to review your coverage. Contact a licensed plumber. There are many in the phone book. Or see Paula at the office & she can provide you with the phone number of the plumbing contractor we use regularly at the New Atlantis Club.
